If you are unsure if the speed sensor is operating please use the following method to test it out.
For best results set the gauge to a wheel size of 1000mm and 1 sensor point
Passive Speed sensor (Magnetic type)
Using a pair of long nosed pliers (or similar)gently tap the N side of the magnet against the end of the speed sensor as fast as possible obviously do not use sufficient force to damage the sensor.
Active Speed sensor (Non Magnetic type)
Using a flat bladed screwdriver (or similar) gently tap it as fast as possible against the end of the speed sensor obviously do not use sufficient force to damage the sensor.
Under most circumstances the gauge will then show a speed reading.
